Carl E. Griffiths, Chief Pilot
GW Aviation co-founder and company Chief Pilot is Carl Griffiths. After 30 years of total flying experience, including 20 years as a professional commercial pilot, Carl was the ideal candidate to lead GW Aviation’s flight operations. Carl brings a multitude of experience to GW Aviation, including airline experience with a major US airline, as well as serving as Chief Pilot for a Part 135 on-demand air charter operator for ten years. As Chief Pilot with GW Aviation, Carl is responsible for ensuring the safe operation for all of our managed aircraft. This includes designing and implementing Initial and Recurrent training programs for our crews, as well as ensuring flight department quality assurance by developing the GW Aviation Safety Management System. Carl holds the highest certificate awarded by the FAA, the Airline Transport Pilot license, and is experienced in all aircraft types. Additionally, Carl is a certificated flight instructor with single and multi-engine privileges, and serves as the company check airman and standardization pilot.
